Recipe: Purple Almond

Today I adapted yesterday’s Purple Papaya by adding some almond milk that I’d made the day before. It doubled the quantity of the smoothie and made it deliciously creamy! YUM!

Papaya contains rich sources of antioxidant nutrients such as carotenes, vitamin C and flavonoids; the B vitamins, folate and pantothenic acid; and the minerals, potassium and magnesium; and fiber. These nutrients help to keep healthy the cardiovascular system and are also thought to protect against colon cancer. Papaya contains the digestive enzyme,papain, which is used like bromelain, a similar enzyme found in pineappple, to treat sports injuries, other causes of trauma, edema, and allergies.

Mix together;

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 pomegranate
  • 1/4 cup black grapes
  • 1 papaya
  • 4 ice cubes
