After having made the delicious Black Jacks with my organic blackberries, I wanted to make a smoothie with them. I’ve had a lot of people asking what smoothies are good to have at breakfast time and there really is no right or wrong answer to this as whatever you have, providing it contains natural whole ingredients, you can’t really go wrong. But personally I like to start the day with a green smoothie. Don’t let the sound or colour of it put you off! It’s a brilliant way to get more greens in your diet without having to eat a bag of salad or a a pound of spinach.
My green smoothie actually came out black due to the fact it had blackberries in it..go figure! What I actually mean by a green smoothie is a smoothie that is a fruit/green combo. When it was all whizzed up it felt and looked so luxurious that I drank it from a champagne glass. And why not I say! (And my mother always said it was my sister that was the Princess in the family!!)
I combined blackberries, pineapple and spinach. I also added some aςaí powder, maca and apricot kernels. What an amazing way to start the day! It beats toast and jam for the hundreth time hands down. We eat the same thing day in day out for years, (cereal, toast, coffee) without even realising our diet lacks variety! Break your habit, go crazy and have a smoothie!!!
Combine in a blender;
- 1/4 pineapple
- 2 cups organic spinach
- 3/4 cup blackberries
- 1 tsp aςaí powder (optional)
- 7 apricot kernels (optional)
- 1 tsp maca (optional)
Drink in the most extravagant glass you can find!
