IM BACK! I’m back from my holiday and well to be honest, I’m feeling pretty chilled out. It’s unusual for me not to have been on holiday already by this time of year as I normally make it out of the country at least 3 or 4 times per year even if it’s only for a long weekend. (I have quite a few friends that live in Europe so often pop over to see them.) Truth is, I’ve been working my little butt off since the birth of this website in August last year. Gosh – it will be the 1 year anniversary next month! I’ll have to think of something special to do!
Staying healthy at home is a challenge for most of us, let alone being on holiday and yes it was challenging for me. Madeira is kind of an odd place. We stayed at a spa that while it was beautiful, it was eerily quiet. Literally, Lianne and I and maybe 2 other couples seemed to be the only occupants which is really sad as it’s gorgeous there. Apparently the island has suffered massively due to floods and fires.
I took a bag full of chlorella with me along with a tub of Pure Synergy which is a blend of lots of amazing blue green algaes, extracts and medicinal mushrooms for a nutritional boost. The breakfast buffet had fresh fruit juice to which I added a few spoonfuls of green powder and served up some fresh fruit.
The truth is I didn’t get to eat as healthily as I would have liked but rather than stress myself out about it, I just decided to enjoy it. Any food that I wouldn’t have necessarily eaten at home in my own environment that I ate, I blessed with love. It’s quite apparent that the more you resist something, the worse or the more painful the situation becomes. Anytime I begin to feel a feeling that is not derived from love, ie, fear, anxiety, frustration, annoyance etc, I use my technique “See it, feel it, free it”.
See it – become aware of the thought that is causing the feeling
Feel it – allow your body to experience the feeling
Free it – let it go – let it move through you
More often than not, it is our thought about a situation which causes us pain/anger/anxiety/frustration. But when you recognise that you are not your thoughts, take a step back and see the thought for what it is, you take back your power.
I had to use this technique big time on the journey home and tap into the mind tools to help me overcome frustration (which worked very well by the way). (Check out my vlog to find out why!) This technique can be used for any feeling or situation which is making you unhappy/uncomfortable/sad etc. But here’s the secret: You are not your thoughts. How cool is that?! I’ll say it again. You are not your thoughts. We so often get caught up in the story that we are telling ourselves which is more often than not what causes us the pain/discomfort/sadness etc as opposed to the actual reality of the situation. I have learnt a lot of this thought stuff I’m talking about from Sandy Newbigging who uses his Mind Detox Method to help you literally change your relationship with your mind. Most of the people I coach need help with overcoming their thoughts more than anything so being able to recognise this single TRUTH is extremely powerful.
Okay so back to the holiday. We chilled out by the pool and I tried not to check my emails! The Universe conspired to letting me have some time off as weirdly my inbox was very quiet compared to how it usually is. I listened to podcasts, meditations, read books that I have been meaning to delve into for ages and got really clear on my future plans for PollyNoble.com which is all very exciting!
So when I got home, I was CRAVING green juice and green foods! I got back at 2am Wednesday night so first thing Thursday morning I made a green juice from cucumber, lemon, apple and celery before dropping Lianne off at Stansted airport for her flight home to Monaco. Yes she lives there…(Alright for some ey!)
All I have eaten since being back is green, green and more green. I seriously love it. It’s hard to believe that I rarely ate salad a few years ago. My diet consisted of cheese, bread, chocolate, biscuits, pasta, meat, a few token veggies and the odd fruit juice. People often ask me what I eat these days and I sometimes feel bad for being so boring but it mostly consists of green foods! If you ask most raw fooders, they will tell you that they eat very simply. As a snack while I’m writing this, I’m drinking a green smoothie, well it’s kind of greeny brown actually. But don’t let the colour put your off – just get over it and drink it already! It’s good for you!

My gorgeous friend Kate Sayer (who designed the book cover for The Cancer Journey) emailed me this morning and said “I can’t believe how much more energy I have since introducing more juices/smoothies to my diet (especially green ones) it’s all thanks to you and your inspirational website!”
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1/3 cup raspberries
- 1 kiwi
- 1/2 apple
- 5 romaine lettuce leaves
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 cm ginger root, peeled
- 1-3 tablespoons E3 Live (optional)
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
What is it good for?
Raspberries and strawberries contain high levels of antioxidants as well as Vitamin C which help to protect from free-radicals and dis-eases such as cancer. They also contain high levels of phytochemicals which block the development of cancer cells. Kiwi is also high in vitamin C. Ginger is extremely anti-inflammatory helping to maintain an anti-inflammatory environment within the body helping to prevent dis-ease. Romaine (or any greens such as kale, spinach, chard, etc) are packed full of chloropyhll which is highly cleansing and blood-building.
