Chemical-free beauty at its best – Inika

by Polly N on July 29, 2012

I’m a girly girl and I like to wear makeup but finding good quality chemical-free makeup can be tricky. Which is why I was so excited to discover The gorgeous Abigail James, a super duper facialist that I had the pleasure of having a treatment with a few months ago in London let me in on the secret of this awesome organic mineral makeup. I was even telling my friend about my new makeup purchases last week and she pulled out of her handbag her favourite Inika foundation and said she was already in the loop! Love that! So I got online and ordered up a storm. Here’s a picture of the lovely package that arrived a few days later.

I love the cheek colours and in particular the lip glosses because we all need a bit of sheen now and then! And I LOVE that it is organic and natural. Inika was born when CEO Miranda Bond changed her diet and lifestyle to accommodate some health challenges and in the process decided to create her own natural beauty brand with friend Jenni Williams.

If you’re not up to date on what’s wrong with everyday makeup and how it could be harming you, check out my post on all the nasties that are lurking in your makeup bag. Not only am I extremely vigilant with what I use for makeup, but I also ensure I use chemical-free lotions and potions as your skin absorbs everything you put on it. I like to buy my shampoos, moisturisers and nail polishes from an online store I know stocks no products with toxic nasties in –

Hey Polly,
Love your blog! Just a quick question I’ve been looking at Inika for a while now and I was just wondering if it sits well on the skin? I’ve tried other mineral makeups like arbonne and Nude by nature and found that they make my skin a bit oily and tend to look cakey. I’m trying to overhaul my beauty products so your advice would be really awesome :)
