6 Things I’m Loving

by polly on August 15, 2012

Today I’m introducing you to some things I am loving right now and hope you do too. If you are an avid reader of my blog you will know that I am always looking for the cleanest most organic natural products to use as possible in order to minimise my exposure  to nasty chemicals and pollutants.

1. Korres Haircare

Korres is a Greek brand that prides itself on delivering a natural answer to other hair and beauty products that use silicone to make your hair “silky smooth” . Not only is silicone non-biodegradable but it’s also harmful to your health. Korres uses endemic cretan plants from Crete which help to protect the scalp and hair against environmental damage while inhibiting hair-loss as well as being packed with Vitamin B Complex which helps to restore and maintain healthy hair. What more could you ask for?

What I am using:

1. Almond & Linseed Shampoo

2. Almond & Linseed Nourishing Hair Mask

3. Almond & Linseed Conditioner

2. The Spitalfields Candle

Most people don’t think twice about what candles are made from when buying them but when I began changing my beauty products and looking into the ingredients of what was in a lot of the things I used around my home, I was shocked to discover just how harmful most candles are. The average candle is made with paraffin which is a petroleum by-product which is then bleached with 100% industrial strength bleach, creating toxic dioxins, changing the colour to its whiteness. Once burned, paraffin releases carcinogenic toxins such as benzene and toluene into the air, where they pollute your lungs and home.

Spitalfields candles are made with a sustainable source of 100% soy wax and essential oils making them safe for you and your home. Lavender and chamomile smells divine and there are plenty of other smells in the range to choose from such as Lemon Verbana, Rosemary & Thyme and Ylang Ylang & Patchouli.

3. AEOS Skincare and Makeup Range

I have written about AEOS before  as I am a big fan of their skincare with it being bio-dynamic, organic, energised and generally all round fabulous for my skin. Now they have created a makeup range, I am even more excited! Finding good quality safe organic makeup can be tricky so I am super chuffed to have received this box of goodies to try. I am loving the lip balm, the lip tint, the cream eyeshadows and the mascara (which let’s face it is essential – we all need a decent mascara!)

4. ISOL +

ISOL + is an alcohol and ammonia free solution created for cleaning your LCD/LED/3D/Plasma TV, desktop computer, laptop, tablet computer, smartphone, iPhone, iPad, iPod, portable gaming console, digital camera, camcorders and electrical equipment. I love that companies are finding ways to create products that are safer for us to use in and around the home, especially when they work just as well if not better than other more harmful products.

5. DOUnlimited Clothing

I was fortunate enough to be chosen to be an Olympic Torchbearer back on 22nd July through Bexley Heath and am pleased to say it was a truly fabulous day. So many people came out to support which made it magical and emotional. I met another torchbearer who is also into health and fitness and provides really cool sports clothing. With me being a yoga bunny and a closet comfort freak, I decided to try some of the getup and LOVE it. Its perfect for throwing on after a workout and it looks cool – always a bonus!

6. Augustine Approved

My friend Verity contributed a great post recently on the importance of feeding your dog quality food which you can read here so I was pretty excited to discover Augustine Approved (thankyou to Jess at Wellness Warrior for putting me onto this). Augustine Approved have created the worlds first and only 100% certified organic wholefood supplement formulated for dogs. My puppies love it and I love that now they can benefit from superfoods just like me!

Have you tried any of the above products or are you now keen to?

Hi Polly.. I always love reading your nuggets of information. I like Korres but was never sure about how chemical free it was but now I think i’m going to be treating myself to some new shampoo at the weekend. And the sports clothing is great, I’ve been looking for a cute hoodie for ages! x

Hi Polly, those iSOL products are amazing. I’ve got a cloth on my desk constantly. Little bit OCD but my devices are clean!

Id like to try them all!
I do like my Green People products for skin and make-up , maybe I’ll try some of the above next time for a treat
Like the sound of the candles, I think we all get a bit brainwashed by some of the “trendy” companies producing “natural” scents, so good to see the real thing.
Well done again “agent Polly” x

I love everything about the dog quality food. Even puppies enjoy their food. And to the sports clothing, I’ve always wanted to own one of those cute hoodies. Thanks for sharing this, Polly!

Great info, Polly! Can’t wait to try out some of that stuff myself. At the moment I’m loving 3 things:
1) ‘Cancer is Not a Disease, It’s a Survival Mechanism’ by Andreas Moritz: an essential book for every single person on the planet to read.
2) Raw wraps to make ‘fajitas’ and ‘samosas’.
3) Feeling gratitude for being alive!
