Lorna Jane lands in London!

by Polly N on July 29, 2013

Sometimes, I think I was born to the wrong parents in the wrong country because I wish I had been born and live in Australia. But of course, I wasn’t and I did choose the right parents for me in this lifetime. Since becoming a certified health coach and starting Polly’s Path, I have met some incredible women from all over the world who are just like me, passionate about making our lives full of service by inspiring readers/clients/followers to upgrade their choices when it comes to their diet and lifestyle. Not so long ago, I discovered an awesome lifestyle brand called Lorna Jane who looked like they make really cute colourful and sexy fitness gear. But then when I went searching for their products online, I was disappointed to learn they are not based in the UK, but of course, Australia, where all the other awesome health coaches and foodies seem to live! Until now…

Lorna Jane has landed in London!

Yes, I am really excited to tell you that Lorna Jane has landed and I went to check out their pop-up store in Covent Garden last week which I’m going to tell you all about. Plus I’m having a little Lorna Jane giveaway so make sure you read to the bottom to be in with a chance of winning!

What/who is Lorna Jane?

Lorna Jane Clarkson is the forward-thinking pioneer & advocate for health and wellbeing, and creator of the Move Nourish Believe movement. (I was super chuffed to be featured as a Sporty Sister earlier this year on MNB which you can read here.) Lorna is a girl after my own heart; from what I have read online and from her personal instagram, I can see that she likes to move her body every day, sticks to eating whole natural foods and believes that anything is possible with a bit of hard work. Amen sister! Oh, and she looks like she’s a dog person which always scores points with me! (I’m a maltipoo mama don’t you know!)

lorna_jane-portrait3

I had the pleasure of visiting the store last week and checking out all the gear which I was excited to get my hands on. Lorna and her team have done a really great job of making you want to wear exercise clothes even when you’re not working out. The material is extremely good quality and the designs are bright and uplifting. I’ve currently got my beady eye on a few items and knowing me, will probably be introducing them to my wardrobe very soon!

Lorna Jane

I love everything the Lorna Jane brand stands for. I love that not only do they make wicked clothing, they INSPIRE you to move and nourish your body and believe in your dreams. I also love that they use real women as their muses to model the clothes and be a source of inspiration to work out. If you’re in need of a dose of fitspo, I recommend following their instagram and pinterest accounts where you can find pictures like this one below. (If you want some foodie and health inspiration, come check out my pics!)

Hello!
I’ve been following LH on twitter for a while and everything looks AMAZING. I’m new to the fitness model industry and feel the need to treat myself to some new gym gear to show off (attending a gym which is 95% male based means I need to FULLY represent for the other sporty fit females out there). Huge advocate of ‘strong is the new skinny’, and what better way to do that than by proving strong and fit can be super fashionable!

I live by superfoods and clean living, so much so that I’m in the midst of setting up my own business surrounding clean, alkaline living. I work in a PhD sports science office aka far too many sceptical men, and if I have more to show off to them about how delicious things can be I can slowly convert them (so far almond milk has been my best)!

Living active means incorporating clean, healthy, fit living in to my every day life! I work, live and breathe training and clean living, you only have to look at my twitter to see all the alkaline, clean recipes I conjure up daily! Adopting this life got me out of chronic fatique syndrome that even doctors couldn’t cure! It means taking advantage of a future trip to the states to source all the best vegan restaurants, new fitness trends (cue Soul Cycle and Barry’s Bootcamp) and encouraging all friends to undertake them with me (despite their greatest reluctance). It means enjoying life to the fullest, avoiding the chemical s*$t storm that is low fat, poor quality food and ultimately never giving up!

Thanks Emilia and congratulations!

I would love to win this goody bag, last year I found the joy in exercise – and for me this is a big deal as I never expected to use the words joy and exercise in the same sentence! I have been lookig for some new exercise clothes but haven’t come across anything I really like but Lorna Jane’s look just great!

As well as exercise I have felt the penny drop when it comes to eating clean, I didn’t get this concept for a long time but I gave it a go and all I can sat is WOW! I have now entered a whole new world in terms of learning new recipes, foods etc but also about how what I eat massively affects how I feel.

It’s a world I intend to stay in and learn more about :)

Hi Polly,
I would love to win :-)
Sometimes I think that when you embrace your true path these wierd little coincidences occur. Perhaps the law of attraction is at play? All I know is that this happens to me frequently lately. Only yesterday I was researching adding ‘superfoods’ to my diet – so if I win done that would be magical and would make me smile and feel life really does pan out ok in the end if you believe in fairy tales 😉

I Am on my own health quest and still ‘recovering’ from 17 years of ill-health but this journey has inspired me in many ways.
I’m not really well enough to excersise at all but I try to do some gentle yoga. Like most girls Fashion excited me. If I have a cool too to throw on I’m more inclined to push myself into doing a few gentle poses! Clothes are motivators and even an extra 1% of energy helps! Haha.
Thanks and best wishes xxxx

Hey Polly,

Like you, I was super excited to learn last week Lorna Jane has arrived in London! I started following the LJ Move Nourish Believe mantra this year and actually discovered your blog via your feature on their site. I was excited to hear that you were based in the UK as a lot of the fitness & nutrition blogs I read are Australian or American (i’m from NZ!) I popped into the store last week and too have a list of things to buy!

I would love to win the Lorna Jane giveaway because I find that any little bit of encouragement when it comes to fitness and nutrition helps! Whether it be an inspiring blog post, new work out gear or discovering a new healthy recipe. I made an active decision to change my lifestyle for the better earlier this year by eating as clean as possible and committing to moving my body everyday. This is exactly what living actively means to me, moving your body daily, nourishing it with natural and yummy food and making a conscious decision to be happy every day. I have seen so many positive changes in my life since I made this change and I wake up every day excited to get in my exercise and then to fill my body with goodness!

Firstly you were born in London so you could be one of the pioneers that make UK a health coach and foodie haven except (and this is where my giveaway answer kicks in) In the UK, we have to deal with colder unpredictable weather, less sunshine and a generally less forgiving climate to eat a raw food diet. Its a bit like the difference between meditating on a hilltop and in an inner city apartment, we have to try that little bit harder (Sorry Oz, it’s true)

So I think we need a little bit more encouragment and motivation that colourful workout clothes and goodybags bring 0:-) because living active means not letting things get you down, hold you back or sometimes not letting it keep you sat infront of the tv eating a whole pack of jaffa cakes.

Living active means being the best ‘me’ that I can possibly be! I want to be the best role model I can be to my children, to show them that life is there for living and enjoying. I thrive on being outside in the beautiful English countryside and in eating a rainbow! To see the positive in every moment and to live life to its fullest.

I would love to win this goodie bag as I am in the middle of a juice fast so some new fitness gear would be great – I have just started being more active recently and I feel so much better for it. Its is so important to keep the body moving, I feel so much better in many aspects – energy levels, skin condition, weight – its a shame not everyone realises this:-(

I love Lorna Jane! I’m an Aussie who lives in London, and I have to say I much prefer it here! I think the fact that the fitness industry is still quite new makes it all the more exciting – we get to be ahead of the movement, and there are so many exciting prospects for growth around the corner.

Living active means staying healthy in all aspects of my life. I’m currently training for my first strongwoman competition, which involves some pretty intense training (2 hours a day, 5-6 days a week). But there are other sides to it that are just as important as my physical training. I have to eat well (and eat a lot!), spend time on my mobility and flexibility, improve my mental focus and power, and of course relax occasionally to avoid overtraining. I’d love to wear LJ while I’m pulling a truck behind me!

Loving the colours… they look just perfect to cheer us up on those days we need some extra bit of positive energy!

My road to living active is always under construction. Nourish your body and mind with healthy food and keep on smiling even if the road gets bumpy.

Thank you Polly for being such an inspiration x

Hi Polly
I love the Laura Jane range and it would really add a bit of colour to my running gear . I have been running for the last year and a half after finishing radiotherapy . I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago but have always thought myself very lucky as it was caught early . I will be running the Great North Run in September for Breast Cancer Care so I the LJ range would be just the thing to keep me going !!!
keep up the good work Poppy – I am making little changes

Active living for me is making the most of my life by doing something fun and active , loving my body and nourishing my soul every day. Through my new clean-eating and exercise regime I have become happier and healthier; it has made me feel beautiful on the inside, and Lorna Jane Active clothes make me look beautiful on the outside – a perfect combination :-)

What an amazing prize! I have always been active and had an interest in health and healthy living but it wasn’t really until this time last year that I decided to focus on my health and well being.

I used to have binge/ starve issues with eating which used to consume me but something finally clicked & I knew I had to change my ways. I started eating 5 meals a day full of all the good things – fruit, veg, complex carb, lean protein. I really started to notice a difference in my energy levels and also my own happiness. My mood swings stopped.

I started working out in the early mornings before work & I found that this made a huge difference to my fitness. I’ve trained hard theoughout the winter – the wind, the rain & now in the summer the hot sun!

I’ve learnt that changes don’t happen overnight but with will and determination you can achieve your goals! I’m now healthier, happier & fitter at 31 than I ever was at 21. I love to inspire others to lie a healthy lifestyle and I can see that my journey has set others on the path to their own health & happiness!

Hi Polly,

I would be so happy to win this Lorna Jane active goody bag as I love her style of clothing and how she can empower women who love fitness, but also allow them to be feminine (if they want to..!). Another reason why I would love to win is that I actually live in London and desperately wanted to see the store and go on the run, but have unfortunately been unable to visit as am working crazy hours at the moment. Which brings me on to what living active means to me – at the moment it is balancing my busy work schedule with looking after myself both physically and mentally. It can be challenging at times, but when I reap the benefits everyday I really know that it is the best thing for me!

Thanks Polly!

being active is knowing I’m alive, yoga, Pilates, swimming, and running are my thing, I do most of it on my own, I call it ” mams timeout” but sometimes while I’m running my husband and kids would cycle alongside me, and my kids would sometimes do a bit of yoga with me, so I guess being active to me is many things, knowing I’m alive, or having some alone time, and bonding with my kids. Its the lifestyle that makes me and my family happy. I also would love some Lorna Jane active clothes.xoxoxo thank you xoxoxoxo
