Polly’s Path TV – Reproductive Health with Nat Kringoudis & book giveaway

by Polly N on August 12, 2013

Growing up, before I was diagnosed, I always figured I’d meet ‘the one’, get married and make a beautiful family but as you know, life ain’t no fairytale, and sometimes things just don’t go to plan. The baby you imagined may not have manifested yet because you need to look at what is and isn’t working in your current diet and lifestyle.

fertilise-yourself

I don’t know a whole lot about fertility as I’ve never been pregnant and obviously have no children myself so I asked fertility expert Nat Kringoudis what we should be doing to help our bodies prepare for motherhood. And her answer was kind of surprising yet completely makes sense. She said (and her businesses tag line is this:) “Fertility is not limited to babies, it’s about a healthy reproductive system.” This means that it’s important for all women to know the  valuable information that Nat’s sharing in our interview because it’s not all about babies! It’s about healthy periods, hormones and the ramifications of taking THE PILL. Yes this is a biggie you need to know about for your own health.

So here’s what you’ll learn in this video:

  • Why women who have been pregnant before may struggle to get pregnant again
  • Ramifications of taking the pill
  • the truth about whether you can fall pregnant taking the pill
  • 2 things that dramatically affect hormone health
  • the type of ‘fat’ that improves your reproductive health
  • the 1 thing that affects your fertility by up to 50%!

We’ve got 5 copies of Fertilise Yourself and a Yes Baby to giveaway!

Hi Polly,
I am 29, been married for a year and looking to start trying for a baby in the next couple of months. I have been on the pill for far too long and would love to win a copy of this book so that I can learn the most effective way of hopefully cancelling out the effects that the pill may have had on my body over the years. It is such an exciting time for me and I want to do everything in my power to make it the healthiest and safest process for my body and hopefully my future baby’s.
I have recently discovered your blog and am loving all of your advice and inspiration. Many thanks, Abby

I would love to win a copy of Fertilise Yourself as I am still trying to balance my hormones over 1 year after coming off the pill. I want to learn more about how to maximise my health now so that I don’t have problems (much!) later on when I do want babies :) Thanks!

Hi Polly,

That was a great and informative interview! I would love to win a copy because I am
having many issues with my digestive system and I have been to many GP practitioners
and specialists who cannot help me in finding a solution. It’s making me go a little bit crazy and I am therefore now looking into more alternative forms of healing. And from the research I have been doing, it all really does make sense! “Let Food Be Thy Medicine”
Thank you!

Hi Polly,

I dont have children yet, although hope I am lucky enough to meet a nice man and have some once my health is improved. I believe and hope that this will happen for me when the time is right and I try not to worry about getting older because worry changes nothing and all I can do is the best I can right now. I hope my diet will mean I am fertile when this does happen.

I would actually love to win the book for my sister and for friends around me. Sadly infertility seems more and more common. People don’t seem to question why? They think im mad when I suggest looking at diet. Maybe they dont want that to be the problem.

It took my sister 4 years to be blessed with my beautiful niece Amelia May and whilst she was worth the wait in every way I hope that her brother or sister to be comes along a little easier. My sister does listen to some of my nutrition advise and I think she would agree that played a part in the arrival of Little Miss Amelia :-) however, I think that knowledge only completely sinks in if you yourself do the research or the reading. If you have a book to show your husband and family it is always taken more seriously and can be re-inforced far more powerfully in your mind than someone constantly telling you something. You can choose not to listen, but if you decide to read a book it is powerful.

Therefore I would really love to win this for extra tips for myself, for my sister, for Amelia and for my friends. Children are a blessing and every family (whether they are directly your offspring or not) deserves one or two to be treasured 😉

Thanks Carly x

Hi Polly,
thank you for sharing this video!
id love to win this book as Ive been looking more and more into reproductive health and have had many problems with the pill and amenorrhea etc. I absolutely love Nat Kringoudis and she is such an inspiring wealth of information. I never used to care about my periods and was so totally unaware of how the pill affects your body and its consequences. Id love to learn how to bring my reproductive health back into line in a healthy, balanced and holistic way and not using prescription hormone therapy etc.
thanks for your time,
Emma

I would love to win this book! Since following nat’s blog I’ve started to learn just how much damage I’ve been doing to my body and my future fertile self. I have been on the pill for more than half my life – starting at age 12 (crazy!), and now 31 I find myself angry and confused that at 12 years old this hormonal manipulator was the only medical solution for me. That aside I’ve been off the pill for 7 weeks now, convinced this is what I need to do to ensure my long term health and fertility. It’s been a little bumpy and at times an emotional roller coaster but I can already feel my body changing and responding to these nurturing changes. The pill, sugar and wheat are out, and a normalish cycle has begun, but I would love to learn more about what I can do to support my body – physically, emotionally and hormonally – through this trying stage and the rest of my fertile life!

I would love to win a copy of this book.

I came off the pill (after many years) at the beginning of 2012. I had a total of 3 periods last year. This year, I started charting my temperatures, which showed that I had a very (too!) short luteal phase. When I asked my doctor how I could improve it, she was not able to help. I do not get periods every month, but found out I was pregnant in May, only to lose the baby two days later.

I am fit and healthy, but have been diagnosed with PCOS, and at 39, feel that my chances are running out fast!

Hi Polly,

I would love to win a copy of this book, as I constantly looking for advice to improve my fertility. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2010, but had experienced symptoms several years before. In spite of the effort I’ve made to try and combat the symptoms (in particular hormonal imbalance and absent periods) and cause through lifestyle changes and medication, I have not been able to bring about a change in my health. This book would be a great way for me to learn more about ways in which I can improve my reproductive health.
Thanks for such a great giveaway.
