Christmas is one of my favourite times of year, not only because it means spending precious quality time with my family, the people I love most in the world but because I get to give gifts. I get so much joy from buying things for those I love and seeing them unwrap it, their eyes light up and a broad smile engulf their beautiful face. Bliss.
Passing on that joy to someone is a wonderful thing to do but at this time of year, it’s also important to look after and gift yourself with the same joy, love and kindness that you extend to your loved ones. So in the spirit of cultivating some self-love, I want to share with you some of the ways in which you can do that for yourself that will take you into the New Year with renewed health and vitality.
Your skin is your largest organ and absorbs everything you slather onto it. If you have been using chemical-laden products filled with parabens, pthalates and formaldehyde, (which is something you might not be aware of) it’s time to think again. These chemicals are clogging up your internal highways and causing a toxic slump which your body has the hard task of having to deal with. Do yourself a favour and opt for more natural products.
If every January, you commit to going on a diet, doing more exercise or generally make empty promises of being an improved version of yourself and end up falling short of your intended goals, The Conscious Life Guide is the program for you. This is my signature coaching program designed to empower you to make the upgrade around all of your lifestyle choices so that you can be your healthiest, happiest self. It kicks off in January and right now, there’s an earlybird offer just in time for Christmas…but it’s for a limited time only. (p.s. as I no longer offer one-to-one coaching, this is the only way you can now work with me and ask me your questions).
I wouldn’t be without my juicer. For the last 8 years I have religiously juiced my self back to health. It’s one of the fastest ways to flood your body with nutrients, oxygen and enlivening enzymes and everyone that I know that has started juicing, has never looked back.
Milk is nasty, inflammatory and very acidic to the body. It has also been linked to cancer growth and increased risk of osteoporosis, (despite what the sly marketing companies have led us to believe about the calcium being good for our bones)! Switch to drinking oat, rice, coconut, soya or nut milk, which can be made in a matter of seconds in this genius machine.
5. Udo’s Choice
70% of your immune system lives in your gut so ensuring there’s plenty of good bacteria with probiotics to keep the little bit of bad bacteria we need in check is crucial to a healthy digestive system and our overall health. Our bodies also need essential fatty acids omega 3&6 for maintaining supple joints, heart health, brain function, and a strong immune system; our bodies cannot produce them so we must ensure they are included in our diets.
There are of course more than 5 ways you can upgrade your health but these are a great start. If you’d like to know more about how to make the upgrade, join me for The Conscious Life Guide kicking off in January.
