Meet Jessica…

What are 3 words you would use to describe yourself?

Tough question! In 2014 I want to be more fun, magical and fabulous. I’m not sure if I would call myself those three words 100% of the time, but that’s what I’m aiming for this year!

What does wellness or wellbeing mean to you?

Being the best version of yourself in body & mind.

What was the catalyst that turned you on to living a more natural and holistic lifestyle?

I grew up with very health conscious parents on a farm so I have always been surrounded by healthy food, alternative therapies and lived somewhat healthy.

When I was in my early 20s I made the decision as an adult to fully embrace living a healthier lifestyle for my future self. This was a big turning point for me because up until then I was following in my parent’s footsteps and not questioning things for myself. Luckily they were good footsteps to follow!

Can you tell us why you are so passionate about health and why more people should take more notice of what they consume and how they live?

Your health affects every part of your life – relationships, career, business, and emotional state. Without your health your whole life suffers, I certainly don’t want that which is why I choose to look after my health and be mindful about what I eat.

For anyone wanting to upgrade their health or diet, what is your advice on what to change first and how?

I think it really depends on the person, however I would recommend to start with one area and then look to expand. Consider giving up sugar, soft drinks, dairy, meat, wheat or eggs and then move onto another once you have mastered it.

What does an average intake of food consist of for you per day?

I’m vegan so lots of salads, veggies, smoothies, soups and stir-fries. I also love raw dark chocolate – yum!!

What lessons have you learned in the last few years since starting your health journey that have improved or enriched your life in some way?

I used to absolutely hate cooking but now I wholeheartedly enjoy the process of creating in the kitchen. I find it really relaxing and it’s been a huge blessing to me.

You’ve just released an ebook – can you tell us about it and what your motivation was behind writing it?

I love desserts and I love surprising people and telling them that cake, moose or muffin they just ate is actually healthy for them!

Live Healthy Sweetly is over 70 + pages and contains 40 dessert recipes which are so good for you, you can proudly eat them for breakfast. All the recipes are vegetarian, diary free, refined sugar free, egg free & soy free and many are vegan, paleo, gluten and nut free friendly.

Thank you so much for contributing a recipe to Live Healthy Sweetly Polly!

What can we look forward to from you in the future?

I am about to launch a new website which is super exciting! It’s my new online home where I will be helping women create a fabulous lifestyle, through coaching them on how to create an online business. is also in the process of getting a make over and I’m thrilled to bits about that too!

What is your favourite quote or saying to live by?

You only live once.

Thanks Jessica! Please would you share one of your delicious recipes with us?
